1. Question: How do you reconcile
corporate governance (business centered) and clinical governance
(patient centered) when talking to administrators about METS?
2. Question: Should the same people
that respond to a "code blue" respond to a MET? Can
there be a paring down of the personnel that responds to a MET?
3. Comment: Hospitalists should
take a central role in METS.
4. Question: An EMT in the ED
may be a good component of the MET - what are their skill levels
and availability? Point of care laboratory technology has great
potential and should be used.
5. Question: Are existing crash
carts being modified for METS? Are the carts being taken from
the ICUs to the rest of the hospital?
6. Question: Is anyone using rapid
bedside testing technology for lactate, blood gas, hemoglobin,
glucose?
7. Comment: I would like to recognize
Dr. White for pioneering METS implementation prior to its acceptance
and availability nationwide.
